Negative taken of Richard Mays, a recipient of the Little Rock Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) award at the annual affirmative action dinner at the Camelot Inn in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas in September of 1980. Richard L. Mays was appointed an Associate Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court in 1980. In 1991, Gov. Clinton appointed Mays to the state's Ethics Commission.
